Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to fish the Big Horn River in Wyoming?

The Big Horn River offers world-class fly fishing year-round, with spring and fall being our most sought-after seasons.

  • Spring Fly Fishing: As water temperatures rise, trout become highly active and insect hatches increase. Expect exceptional fishing conditions and mild Wyoming spring weather.
  • Fall Fly Fishing: Fall is prime streamer season on the Big Horn. Cooler temperatures trigger aggressive feeding, producing some of the largest fish of the year in stunning autumn conditions.
